Electrician in Madison, NJ
Trapani Electric is a licensed electrician in Madison, NJ. We handle panel upgrades, rewiring in pre-war homes, EV chargers, generators, and emergency repairs.
Wiring Madison's Older Houses
Madison is known as the Rose City because of the greenhouses that once filled the borough, and much of the housing from that era is still standing. The streets around Waverly Place and the Drew University side of town include many Victorians and Colonial Revivals, a large number of them built well before 1940.
These houses are structurally sound, but the wiring inside them is often no longer safe by current standards. Trapani Electric handles panel and service upgrades, grounded circuits for kitchens and bathrooms, and full or partial rewiring in Madison. Where it is possible, we route new runs around original plaster and trim rather than through it.
Electrical Services in Madison
In Madison we most often install 100 to 200 amp panel upgrades, whole and partial rewiring, grounded outlet and GFCI retrofits, dedicated kitchen and appliance circuits, EV chargers, standby generators, recessed and exterior lighting, ceiling fans, hardwired smoke and CO detectors, and whole-house surge protection.
Madison also has a steady amount of rental housing near the two campuses. Erik regularly takes landlord work, including inspection punch lists, panel labeling, and smoke and CO compliance before a certificate of occupancy.

What Customers Say
If you want a white glove, top notch, professional electrician this is who you need. Caught a bunch of safety issues that were overlooked on other inspections. Prices are fair and he's honest and to the point!
Erik came over a few weeks ago to adjust some outlets for me. He took the time to understand what I needed and was able to clearly walk me through my options. He was down to earth, kind, respectful, and professional. Will definitely hire him again as needed.
After a storm damaged our outdoor wiring harness, we hired Erik to fix the issue. He did an outstanding job, demonstrating thoroughness and expertise. I highly recommend Erik to anyone in need of an electrician.
